This course encompassing a wide range of animals (production, companion, research, wild) and an extensive range of current and, often, controversial topics, including the keeping and care of captive animals, scientific approaches to understanding animal welfare, and ethics philosophies of animal use.

This interdisciplinary course, based on active participation and discussion-method learning, will provide students with a solid understanding of animal welfare science and is complimentary to animal-related field of study.
