On Respect and Remembrance Macdonald Campus Remembrance Day Ceremony, Nov 8

Each year I have the distinct pleasure of leading the Macdonald procession to Memorial Field.  It is not a long walk, but it is a very emotional one - for each step I take brings on a flood of memories from days gone by (McGill Reporter). Though the relationships and circumstances may differ,  I know that many of you share similar stories.

Peter Enright's 2017 message to the Macdonald community still rings true. "Remembrance Day gives us all an opportunity to pay respect to the men and women who serve to protect our freedom, but it also allows us to teach and to connect the students of today to our shared history.  Let us remember that these young people will be the authors of the next chapter of our history."

Please consider joining the procession leaving from the Memorial Clock in the Raymond Building Thursday, November 8th at 10h15.   The ceremony will commence on Memorial Field at 10h30.

To our leaders and the organizers of this annual event Peter Knox, Bob McEwen and Randy Westman (Macdonald) -  Ted Duckworth (Mac High) - Bill Mahon and Tracey Burns (JAC) and their volunteers - thank you for carrying on this tradition.

Poppies can be purchased through the Welcome Centre, the MCSS Counter in the Centennial Centre, Pine's Cottage (Arboretum), Security Services (Laird Hall) and at the Security Office at John Abbott (Casgrain-Exit 3).

Lest we forget.
